Je Tsongkhapa (Chongaba) Thangka Collection
Welcome to our curated collection of hand-painted Je Tsongkhapa Thangkas—frequently known in regional artisan circles as Chongaba or Chongapa Thangkas.
Je Tsongkhapa Lobsang Drakpa (1357–1419) is one of Tibetan Buddhism’s most revered scholars, yogis, and the founder of the Gelug School (Yellow Hat tradition). Recognized as an embodiment of Manjushri (the Buddha of Wisdom), Tsongkhapa is traditionally depicted wearing the pointed yellow Pandita hat, holding his hands in the Dharmachakra Mudra (teaching gesture), and flanked by lotus blossoms bearing the Wisdom Sword and the Prajnaparamita Sutra.
