Vajradhara Choksing – King of Vajrayana Transmission refers to a symbolic interpretation combining Vajradhara, the source of all tantric teachings, with a “Choksing” (guardian/protective) aspect representing the safeguarding and preservation of enlightened transmission.

In Vajrayana Buddhism, Vajradhara is regarded as the primordial Buddha (Dharmakaya)—the ultimate source of all tantric lineages and teachings. He represents timeless, non-dual awareness beyond form and conceptual thought. As the “king of transmission,” Vajradhara embodies the direct, unbroken flow of wisdom passed from awakened mind to practitioner through realized masters.

The “Choksing” aspect introduces the idea of protection and guardianship. In this symbolic sense, it reflects how the purity of Vajrayana transmission is indestructible and self-protecting, like a vajra (diamond), which cannot be broken or corrupted. It emphasizes that authentic wisdom remains safeguarded through realization, discipline, and lineage continuity.

In traditional thangka iconography, Vajradhara is depicted seated in deep meditation, often dark blue in color, holding a vajra and bell crossed at his heart. These represent the union of wisdom and compassion, emptiness and form. His calm, centered posture symbolizes complete realization of the nature of reality.

In a “Choksing” interpretation, this serene form may be accompanied by subtle radiant energy, symbolic flames, or protective aura motifs, indicating the active, living nature of enlightened transmission that dispels ignorance and preserves truth.
