AMITAYUS

AMITAYUSH Amitayush is usually depicted seated in a meditation posture with a vase (kalasha) in his hands, which elixir (liquid) of immortality (amrita) and leaves of Ashoka tree. It symbolizes �A long life without the misery (shoka) of disease. On the top of the vase can be an alms (food) bowl. In Buddhism, we pray amitayush for long life and healing from disastrous diseases like cancer and other incurable diseases. (Mantra : OM AMARANI JIVAN TIYE SVAHA)
